I love to give each student a white board for their desk. They can write answers to problems that I write on the board and I can quickly check for understanding without more papers to grade. These erase MUCH better that shower board.

Dry erase markers are a must! I use them and so do my students. Expo markers last so much longer than other less expensive brands.
