The Water Cycle Science Unit for 4th & 5th Grade

This 10-day Water Cycle science unit gives students a clear and organized way to learn how water moves through Earth. Students explore where water is found, how it changes form, and how evaporation, condensation, and precipitation work together in a repeating cycle.

Through interactive PowerPoint lessons, investigations, reading passages, hands-on activities, science stations, task cards, and a summative assessment, students will develop a clear understanding of how the water cycle works.

Teachers often struggle to:

• Identify and explain the many places water exists on Earth
• Help students understand water as both a liquid and a solid
• Make sense of the water cycle as an ongoing, repeating process
• Break down evaporation, condensation, and precipitation in student-friendly ways
• Explain how water travels from the atmosphere back to Earth’s surface

Our Water Cycle Unit solves common teaching challenges with thoughtfully designed resources that make science fun and meaningful. With PowerPoints, reading passages, stations, and an assessment, students will learn key vocabulary, investigate real-life reactions, and apply their learning in engaging ways.
